SOLID ART DIRECTOR / DESIGNER TYPE PERSON

Range. Clarity. Process. Craft.

For 30 years, I’ve challenged the traditionally conservative world of B2B with bold ideas, unexpected creative, and a healthy disregard for cookie-cutter design. My approach combines range, clarity, process, and a return to craft to turn complex stories into compelling creative that gets attention and delivers results.

01 / SELECTED STORIES / MPULSE

As the job got bigger, so did my role.

ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR / 2024 - 2026

What began as a freelance design assignment grew quickly into a broader creative leadership role spanning brand, campaigns, and the entire go-to-market assets library.

02 / SPARROW HOSPITAL

Authenticity plus bold colorful creative blew past engagement expectations.

The client had already been through two designers and the creative just wasn’t landing. To me, the challenge was simple: get more patients through the door without a bigger budget.

03 / FEDERAL COMPASS

Federal Compass had a nice logo and a great color palette. And that was about it.

What started as a one-off project became a four-year creative partnership, helping a small startup build its marketing presence as the company grew.

03 / REDHOUSE

Challenge accepted.

I helped grow a small regional B2B agency into a creative force in the Southeast — winning new accounts, doubling client budgets, and producing award-winning work that delivered results.

04 / MAGMA

A traditional industry, a nervous team, and a very real fear of change.

I met them where they were, built a print campaign that proved itself, and used that momentum to open doors to digital.

05 / BOOTHOSITY

Startup agency wanted a bold, loud, highly targeted launch that broke all the rules.

Every touchpoint dared to be fearless, intentional, and impossible to scroll past. Targeting where it mattered, unapologetic in tone, built to get noticed, and get results.

06 / B2B SNAPSHOTS

A collection of B2B work that displays my love of surprise and disruption.

A quick peek at additional B2B campaigns I’ve shaped over the years. From rebrands to multi tiered lead gen, email to print, content at scale. It’s what I do.

07 / EXPERIENTIAL EXTRAS

Nobody ever wants to do booth work. I don’t understand that. I love working big.

A quick tour of one-offs, big builds and floor-filling moments.

08 / BRANDING HIGHLIGHTS

Browse through additional samples of identity exploration, guidelines and systems.

New logos, logo tweaks, mini guidelines or spiral bound books, icon sets, color palettes, brand rescues and full implementations. I can brand baby. I can brand.

HOW I THINK

There’s a process behind the process.

I believe in structure, design principles, and grids. Plus the slightly obsessive level of organization that keeps work moving and surprises to a minimum.

01 / RANGE

Three decades across brands, industries, audiences, and formats gave me a deep visual library to draw from — styles, trends, palettes, and category cues. I can move quickly between industries and find the visual language that fits.

02 / CLARITY

Understand the problem. Ask questions. Then ask more questions. Questions about the goal, the competition, the budget, the audience, pain points and challenges. Creative briefs don’t need to be longer, they need to be sharper.

03 / PROCESS

Structure creates room for better ideas and time to get there. I explore broadly, narrow deliberately, and usually bring three distinct directions to the table — not three versions of the same thing.

04 / CRAFT

The idea earns attention. Finesse gives it elegance and precision — the artful control and restraint that brings respect to a design. Its leading and margins, white space and balance. Its what makes simple beautiful.

BACKGROUND

Thirty years building better B2B brands, and a little bit of everything else.

I turn complex healthcare, technology, and B2B topics into creative that gets attention, makes sense, and delivers results.

I bring big-picture thinking and hands-on design together with experience leading teams, pitching ideas, and working across departments.

I’m just as comfortable coming up with the big idea, leading the creative, or rolling up my sleeves and making it happen.
